Adding yet another phone-tablet hybrid to the pile, Sony has announced the dustproof and waterproof successor to its Xperia Z series. The Xperia Z Ultra is bigger and comes with one of Qualcomm’s latest processors, though we’re not sure when we’ll see it in the US.
The Xperia Z Ultra is bigger than its 5-inch sibling, with a 6.4-inch display and 1080p resolution. Sony says the phone-tablet hybrid weighs about 212 grams, though it manages to maintain a svelte chassis at only 6.5 mm thickness. It also features a 3000 mAh battery pack to power that large display, in addition to a 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, and 4G LTE connectivity, though no specific band has been mentioned.
